About
Join filmmaker and journalist Vee Hua for a screening of two of their narrative short films —"Searching Skies” and “Reckless Spirits” — followed by a presentation about the fundamentals of independent filmmaking at varying budget levels. Bring your ideas and questions from your own projects to receive guidance on your own professional short-film journey or to learn more about Vee's!
Vee has particular experience in writing, directing, casting, doing production design, running equitable film sets, teaching narrative filmmaking, supporting film festivals as a curator and a juror, and running film nonprofits. They are excited to share such knowledge with you. The day will include:
- Film screenings: 20 minutes.
- Presentation: 10 minutes.
- Discussion and class-led question-and-answer session: 45 minutes.
Details
- Participants of all skill levels are invited to join. You should be prepared to share a little bit about yourself, your interest in film, and your projects, should you have any.
- No materials are required, although you’re encouraged to come prepared with questions you may have about independent narrative filmmaking and your own projects.
- The only “prerequisite” is a willingness to listen to and be in open dialogue with the instructor and other classmates.
