Learn the basic approach editors use when beginning a video project. Using the free video-editing software Adobe Premiere Rush, you’ll experiment with these basic principles and create a short poetic piece, adding titles and music. If we have time, we’ll take a look at the software used for editing most movies and TV shows.
Details
- Skill level: Beginner.
- You need to provide your own laptop with the software loaded (loading instructions provided below and at signup). Note, if you have editing software you’re already comfortable using, you are welcome to use that instead.
- To check for software compatibility, see the Adobe software requirements.
- Your laptop should have a USB connection for loading material. Contact the instructor if another connection format is needed.
- Headphones are suggested.
- To install Adobe Premiere Rush (Mac or PC):
- Create a free Creative Cloud account and sign in here.
- Download Creative Cloud desktop app.
- Open Creative Cloud desktop app. At top of page, click “All apps". Scroll down to “More apps from Adobe” and find “Premiere Rush.” Click “Install” and see that it shows “Installing…%” under the app name. Once installed, open program to ensure it’s working.
