About
Choose your wood from a variety of pieces supplied by BARN, design the shape you want, then cut it on a bandsaw and sand it smooth. You might also use a scroll saw, drill press, or wood-burning tools, depending on details in your design. The instructor and other experienced woodworkers will help guide you to the most appropriate tools for your project and how to use them.
Your design can be a simple geometric shape or something like a pig, fish, or apple, which in past decades were often featured on folk-style cutting boards.
