About

Create a decorative four-sided mosaic on a 5 X 5 X 5-inch wooden box, designing one side for each season of the year. You’ll use colorful glass, millefiori, and other mosaic materials to bring spring blooms, summer sun, autumn leaves, and winter skies to life.

You’ll work with basic glass tools like wheeled nippers, scorers, and pliers and learn how to cut, shape, and arrange tesserae for maximum visual impact. You'll also learn proper adhesives for wood projects and receive detailed instructions and materials to complete the grouting process at home.

You'll leave with a joyful, year-round indoor piece of art.

Barbara Henderson

Barbara is a mosaicist with a passion for helping others express themselves through the art of mosaics. She discovered art a little later in life than lots of other people, having been distracted by corporate life, ladder climbing, and the nonsense idea that she wasn’t creative. Now her favorite thing is to watch a student realize their unique ability to produce something personal and meaningful, and to develop their own artistic vision. Her favorite saying is that “perfection can be purchased at the Dollar Store. Art and beauty are found in the unique and flawed.” She serves on a variety of boards and committees and lives in Gig Harbor with her husband and far too many dogs and chickens.
