About

Bun, vermicelli noodle bowl, features delicate vermicelli noodles as a perfect base for a variety of toppings and flavors. This dish is not only visually appealing but also offers a delightful combination of textures and tastes. This particular dish is topped with crispy egg rolls, succulent shrimp, and fresh herbs and vegetables.

On the Menu

  • Vermicelli noodles: Thin rice noodles that are light and chewy, providing a neutral base that absorbs flavors well.  Learn how to cook and make bundles of these noodles properly.
  • Egg rolls: Crispy and golden, these are typically filled with a mixture of ground chicken, vegetables, and seasonings, then deep fried to perfection.
  • Garlicky shrimps: Peeled and deveined shrimp are marinated with lots of garlic and cooked perfectly to accompany the vermicelli noodles.
  • Fresh vegetables and herbs: Shredded carrots, cucumber, and lettuce often are included for crunch and color while mint and cilantro add freshness and aromatic notes.
  • Sauce: A tangy and sweet nuoc cham (Vietnamese dipping sauce) made from fish sauce, vinegar, sugar, and garlic is drizzled over the dish for added flavor.
  • Pickle: A sweet and sour pickle of daikon and carrots provides a tart and refreshing contrast to the dish.

Theary Tran

Theary spent her childhood years in her native Cambodia, where cooking was integral to the culture. Cooking with local ingredients and trusting her senses, Theary learned to achieve flavor in dishes that looked as good as they tasted. These skills enabled her to feel at home regardless of the cuisine she's exploring. For the past 20 years, Theary has been bringing her love of art and cooking to children and adults, teaching fundamentals as building blocks for creativity. The result is a safe and encouraging environment for students to explore their imaginations. Her goal is for each student to have a positive experience that inspires self-confidence, and the opportunity to connect with their own creativity. Theary is currently a K-6 educator locally and in Sonoma County. In her spare time, she spends time in the water, kayaking, hiking, or biking.
