About

September's Third Thursday features writer/actor Leza Danly, who will lead participants in exploring memoir writing as a path to personal transformation and share how writing about life’s pivotal moments can fundamentally shift the narrative we hold about ourselves. When we dive deeply into these experiences through writing, allowing ourselves to feel the full range of emotions they contain, we often discover hidden layers of our own stories.

“Transformational memoir” is a practice that goes beyond simply recording events to actively reshaping our understanding of who we are. Through a guided writing exercise, you’ll have the opportunity to experience firsthand how the act of writing can create shifts in awareness.

The session will include the story of Leza’s inspiring journey to bring her solo show, "Soul Breadcrumbs," from a 30-year dream to sold-out performances at age 70. She’ll share how both the writing process and the vulnerable act of sharing her story with audiences deepened her own healing and transformation.

Come prepared to write, reflect, and discover new dimensions of your own story.

Third Thursdays are monthly gathering where writers gather to explore different facets of the craft through expert talks, engaging conversation, and opportunities to read their writing.
