About
Mushrooms are fascinating organisms deeply ingrained in our subconscious, with their mycelium extending into folklore, medicine, and cuisine. The kingdom of fungi is vast and varied, with some spores being so small they aren't visible under a microscope. The largest organism on Earth is a mushroom, whose mycelium spans over 2,200 acres in eastern Oregon. Truffle Duffel explores their diverse forms and vast textures by expertly layering hand dyed wools, velvets, and cotton fabrics. Extensive background applique and embroidery creates a natural woodland where surprises that lurk and shoot through the forest floor will suddenly appear through stitchery. Sue provides detailed instructions, clear pattern, and stitch diagrams, as well as the opportunity to learn new techniques. Master wool applique, layering, cotton and velvet applique, rick rack application, and textural embroidery.
