About
This is for those who've taken a casting course and now want to continue developing their skills with centrifugal or vacuum casting. You'll get hands-on time to work through the full process — spruing, investing, and casting — with an experienced instructor available for feedback and support.
If you're looking to build confidence, refine your technique, or troubleshoot common casting issues, this is a great way to stay in practice while deepening your understanding of the process. On the first day, you'll sprue and invest your pieces and, on the second day, you'll cast.
Everyone helps to clean up both days.
Materials
- You need to provide your own metal. Bronze or sterling are the most-often-cast materials. If you're using scrap, clean and remove all solder beforehand. You can cast in gold if you choose.
- A $12 materials fee, included in the cost of the clinic, includes one flask equal to 500 grams of investment.
- If you choose to cast more than one flask, bring cash or a credit card to pay for the extra investment used.
- You should bring towels for drying metal and your hands.
