Learn traditional rag rug techniques and turning fabric scraps into one-of-a-kind, functional art. See how simple materials can become beautiful and useful.
This hands-on, relaxed relaxed workshop is designed for all skill levels, whether you’re brand new to crafting or an experienced maker. You’ll leave with new skills, inspiration, and a rag rug that tells your own story! Together, we can enjoy sharing a passion for breathing new life into old materials in this unique workshop.
Learn how to choose and define an adequate color scheme, weave your own rag rug, weaving terminology basics including warp and weft, and how to add finishing touches.
For anyone who wants to be creative through weaving, this workshop is designed for people who want to learn how to reuse and repurpose old or unwanted clothing.

Details

  • You’re welcome to bring water/beverage and snacks.
  • Wear comfortable clothes. A floor pillow is suggested for knee comfort.
  • You'll make a rug that is about 2.5 by 3.5 feet. 

Materials

A $10 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all the necessary materials, including the old clothes.
