This session is limited to the use of the following studio equipment:

  • Tools in the bench tool box.
  • Flex shaft.
  • Sheet and wire gauge.
  • Digital calipers.
  • Hole punch.
  • Disc and shape cutters.
  • Dapping tools (metal and wood).
  • Pliers.
  • Stamping tools.
  • Steel blocks.
  • Texture hammers.
  • Brass hammers and other hammers in Rollup 3.
  • Sandpaper and sanding sticks.
  • Bench shear and step shear.
  • Drill press.
  • Planishing hammer.
  • Cavallin and small Durston rolling mills (soft-texture materials only).
  • Liver of sulfur.

No other tool access is offered in this Focused Open Studio session. If you need access to tools not listed here, please register for a full Jewelry Open Studio session.

Materials

  • Bring your own materials! Monitors will not have access to sell Jewelry Studio supplies. If you want to purchase materials, please come to a regular  Jewelry Open Studio session.
  • You need to bring an apron and towels for drying metal and hands (long with all materials for your project).

Prerequisites

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up, with a current Skills Card, are welcome.
  • You must wear closed-toe shoes, tie back beards, and put long hair in a bun.
  • Do not wear loose clothing, dangling jewelry, scarves, or ties.
  • If no registrants arrive by the end of the first hour, the monitor may close the studio. If you know you’ll arrive more than an hour after the start time, email the registrar by 11:59 PM the day before.
