About

Create beautiful pendants to use for necklaces, mobiles, or ornaments. You'll learn how to use colorful underglazes and the sgraffito (from an Italian word meaning "to scratch") carving process to decorate your work.

Details

Work will be fired after class and can be picked up about a week later at BARN.

Materials

  • A $15 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all the materials you need. 
  • Students should bring an apron or smock and an old towel.

Katy Levit

Bainbridge Island artist Katy Levit has been creating hand-built ceramic art for more than 30 years. She has a degree from Tufts University/The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and has studied under many renowned ceramic artists including Beth Cavener, James Tisdale, and Kathy King. She has been teaching ceramics for decades and loves turning people on to the excitement of creating something that wasn’t there before.
