About

Regardless of your background or experience, you'll thrive in this imaginative environment where feeling accomplished is as simple as participating and supporting others. While many kids take improv to have fun with their friends, other benefits include skills that are useful in both improv and in life, like boosting self-confidence and strengthening focus.

Each session starts with a few simple warm-ups followed by as many fun games as possible, then a cool-down before class ends. You'll have the opportunity to participate in many different types of games such as guessing, advising, scene development, and more.

Skill level: Beginner.
Bring water and a snack.

Registering Youth

New registrants: When you register, select Others Only in the "Who Are You Registering?" section. On the next page, Add New Registrant. Create an account for your youth.
Next time you register: You will be able to Search Registrants to select your youth.
You may register your youth for an optional supervised lunch hour from noon-1 pm for the duration of this activity.
Make sure to fill out your youth's emergency contact information and other details when creating their account.

Instructors or Guides

Michelle Allen

Michelle has more than 14 years' experience as an actor, director, producer, and improv performer. She has been a member of the improv troupe “Imagined Reality” since 2016, performing at multiple venues in several counties. Also in 2016, she began teaching improv and acting during summer camp, leading to a year-around position at Bainbridge Independence, a program that once provided before- and after-school academic and creative programs for hundreds of of K-12 students. She continues to teach at BARN and Jewel Box Theater for ages 8-18. She has a degree in environmental chemistry, with a minor in conservation resource studies, from the University of California Berkeley.
