About

In this class you will learn three ways to insert a zipper into a garment - a traditional lapped zipper, a fly front zipper (for pants) and an invisible zipper. See which tools and notions make the job easier. Learn simple tips for getting them in right the first time. Make samples in class and take the fear out of inserting zippers.

Materials

For a $10 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, you will receive a kit of pre-cut fabric pieces to use in class to make your samples.

Please bring a sewing machine to use in class, or reserve a BARN machine when you register. You will also need a regular zipper foot, an invisible zipper foot (one specifically for your machine or a generic one), basic sewing supplies including dark and light thread, pins, hand stitching needle, seam gauge or 6" ruler, marking pen, pencil or chalk marker, 1/2" Scotch tape and double stick tape such as Dritz Sewing and Craft Tape or Wonder Tape.

Prerequisites

Fiber Sewing Machine Certification (if using a BARN sewing machine)
