About

This one-hour orientation will allow you access to the Fiber Arts Studio's Bernina L 860 overlocker (serger) sewing machine. This machine is perfectly suited to working with all types of threads and fabrics, particularly highly elastic and knitted materials. The machine offers a variety of stitches, all selectable via the color touch screen.

You’ll learn how to set up and put away the machine, thread it properly, and use the clear and helpful instructions programmed in the machines. The Bernina L860 is basically a sewing machine with many serger stitching capabilities.

Trish Moylan Davis

Trish has been sewing for as long as she can remember...Her Mother, Philomena was her first teacher. Trish left the corporate world behind in 2017 when she moved to Kingston. In 2020, she founded Seamstresses Unite!, a group that produced and donated 36,000 facemasks in the early days of COVID. In 2023 she began a small sewing business named after her Mother, Philomena Fabric Art.
She has been focused on building and improving her sewing and crafting skills, which has lead her to the BARN and its wonderful class offering.
