About
Put a little mosaic glass into your sparkling holiday celebrations. In this two-day class, you'll make a priceless tabletop tree that will become a family treasure or gift. In addition, you'll make mosaic stars or circle ornaments to practice your skills and learn to grout. A fun class to take with a friend or family member.
- Week One: You'll prepare the tree for mosaic and plan your design. You'll learn to place mosaic while you make ornaments.
- Week Two: Design revisions may be made before you "decorate" your prepared tree with glass and beads. You'll learn and practice the grouting technique on your ornaments. Grout kits will be sent with you to complete your tree at home.
Project
You'll make a nine-inch, tabletop tree out of glass beads and mosaic according to the color and design of your choosing. You'll also make ornaments out of glass mosaic when you're waiting for your mosaic tree to properly set.
Materials
A $25 materials charge, included in the price of this class, will cover everything you need to make your tree and ornaments.

Instructors or Guides
Barbara Henderson
Barbara is a mosaicist with a passion for helping others express themselves through the art of mosaics. She discovered art a little later in life than lots of other people, having been distracted by corporate life, ladder climbing, and the nonsense idea that she wasn’t creative. Now her favorite thing is to watch a student realize their unique ability to produce something personal and meaningful, and to develop their own artistic vision. Her favorite saying is that “perfection can be purchased at the Dollar Store. Art and beauty are found in the unique and flawed.” She serves on a variety of boards and committees and lives in Gig Harbor with her husband and far too many dogs and chickens.
