Bring your cooking and baking projects and enjoy the amenities of BARN’s Culinary Arts Studio. A skilled staff member will be on site to help answer your questions about the kitchen or cooking in general. 
A dishwasher will be on hand so you can spend your time focused on your project. 

Open Studio gives you access, at no charge, to Culinary Arts Studio equipment and basic supplies:

  • King Arthur all-purpose flour
  • Short-grain rice
  • Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Baking soda 
  • Baking powder
  • C&H white suga
  • Brown sugar
  • Cooking oil 
  • Avocado oil
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Rice vinegar
  • Eggs
  • Unsalted butter

Prerequisites

You must have attended a kitchen orientation. To schedule an orientation, email kitchen.lead@bainbridgebarn.org

Class Policies

  • Ages 16 and up are welcome.
  • You must wear closed-toe shoes in the studio. 
  • You must be registered for the class (no drop-ins).

    Tracy Matsue Loeffelholz

    Tracy is passionate about sharing the traditional Japanese cooking she learned as a fourth-generation Yonsei in Hawaii. She is a recipe developer for Providence Heart Institute, teaches washoku cooking classes on Bainbridge Island and in Seattle, and is the founder of Bainbridge Island Miso. She has run a test kitchen working with international chefs to prepare their recipes for online cooking classes with American home cooks.
