About

Gain a comprehensive understanding of two-dimensional design principles and elements, as well as their application in creative problem solving. You'll learn basic studio skills, material understanding, and how to develop artistic concepts.

Additionally, the class will focus on participating in critical processes, setting standards for artistic excellence, and expressing these standards verbally. You'll be introduced to design and art terminology and become familiar with both current and historical practitioners in the fields of art and design.

Each class session will involve discussion about design principles in the form of class lectures, critiques of projects, demonstrations of material use, and in-class work on assignments.
