About
The only thing better than forging your own chef's knife is the joy that comes from preparing great food with a tool forged with your own hands. You'll learn proper forging techniques, edge geometry, heat treatment, woodworking, and of course, sharpening (you'll learn and use BARN's brand-new sharpening system). The only thing not taught is how to make great food with your tool, but of course, there are classes at BARN to help with that.

- This class offers a jam-packed 24 hours of instruction over the course of four consecutive Saturdays.
- While there are no prerequisites, smithing experience will improve the final result. You're encouraged to take one of these classes before this class:
Materials
Class Policies
- All of BARN's Forge events are held in open-air, unconditioned spaces. Please dress accordingly.
- Wear natural fiber clothing only (no synthetics that could burn your skin).
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe and -heel shoes or boots. Sandals are not permitted.
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
