Ragù alla Bolognese, a delicious meat and tomato sauce, is a hallmark of classic Italian cuisine. Giovanni will share with you the essential steps to prepare this popular northern Italian dish. You will cook the sauce and learn how to prepare fresh pasta. Giovanni's recipes rely on his Italian culinary background, fresh produce and quality ingredients. You will also learn how to prepare a vegetarian version ragù by using today's excellent plant based alternative meat. 

At the end of class we will taste our creations with a glass of wine. Buon Appetito!

  • Vegetarians and omnivores will enjoy this class.
  • BARN’s kitchen facility regularly uses ingredients known to the FDA as allergens. This class will use wheat.

Materials

A $30 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything you'll need.

Class Policies

  • Ages 21 and up are welcome.
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn in the studio. Tie back long hair.

Giovanni Strohmenger

Giovanni Strohmenger was born in Milano, Italy. He has traveled and lived in numerous countries since the age of 18. From an early age he has enjoyed working with his hands and making things. His professional life spans from the culinary industry to construction and jewelry making. At BARN Giovanni has found the perfect place to follow his creative passions by being active in several studios. Giovanni enjoys volunteering as a teacher in Culinary Arts and the Fiber Arts studio, where he spends the bulk of his time, when not busy in the Woodshop.
