About
Neighbors making food for neighbors! Join us for a lively cooking session as we make big batches of soups, stews, and grain bowls each month to send to Helpline House. We’ll share recipes, tasty food, and ideas for future meals, and make use of the season’s bounty, including vegetarian and meat dishes.
Our meals will be packaged up for distribution by Helpline House. Many of the folks who shop at the food bank at Helpline House are thrilled to take home ready-to-eat meals. Helpline House is a nonprofit organization that provides social services to Bainbridge Island residents. The organization offers a variety of services, including a food bank, financial assistance, and counseling. Helpline House helps anyone in need, regardless of income, at no charge.
Fees for this class cover ingredients, food packaging, kitchen supplies, and a dishwasher. Instructors and assistants volunteer their time, and BARN waives its operating fees.
If you would like to participate without the class fee, tuition assistance is available. Fill out the application before registering. Additionally, BARN members can volunteer to assist in the class. Sign up here.
