About
You'll start with a piece of hardwood that has a groove cut into one side. Then you'll shape a mating piece that slides into that groove and make other features of the hinge, which includes bass rods that you'll cut to length and fit into holes you drill.
You'll also drill a recess for the interior of your box, smooth out the wood, and apply a natural wax finish. Along the way, you'll gain experience with a variety of tools and wind up with a beautiful little box that you can keep or give as a gift.

Registering Youth
- Parent/guardian registering a child for the first time: When you register, select "Others Only" in the "Who Are You Registering?" section. On the next page, select "Add New Registrant." Create an account for your child.
- The next time you register your child, use "Search Registrants" to select them.
- Make sure to fill out your youth's emergency contact information and other details when creating their account.
Materials
An $8 materials fee, included in the class fee, covers everything you need.
Class Policies
- Ages 12-16 are welcome.
- You must wear safety glasses and closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid dangling jewelry and clothing. We recommend bringing your own safety glasses.
