About
This intensive, fast-paced course covers — in four hours — most of the major 2D and 3D wet felting skills typically taught in two-day classes. This class covers:
- How to differentiate the stages of felting.
- How to re-felt a pre-cut 2D shapes to create lively 3D wet felted shapes.
- An introduction to needle felting with the making of a simple head and face.
You'll be able to customize your project by using your favorite scissor-cutting techniques, like scalloped or pinked edges, and adding color and expression to your angel’s face. Most of the parts of your angel will remain wet for up to two days, but you'll be able to fully assemble it in class.
Details
- While there are no prerequisites, you're expected to have basic stitching skills and be able to use scissors to cut templates.
- Please note: Wet felting is a physical activity involving some arm and shoulder mobility and strength. Your instructor will make every effort to modify the project, should you have impaired range of motion or grip issues.
Materials
- Bring white thread, a sewing needle, and your preferred style of thimble.
- A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything else you'll need for this project.

Veronica Lund
“I have embraced the ancient technique of wet felting to create canvases of wool and silk. My goal is to transform the fibers into pigmented brushstrokes in order to capture a body in motion or the subtle nuances of a human face.
Fibers are constantly alternating between art and artifact, between the utilitarian and the decorative. I have endeavored to bridge the chasm between brush and fiber to explore deeper relationships between humanity, nature, and technology.”
