About
In Session 1, you'll learn how to mount the green bowl blank to get the best balance, and then proceed to turn the bowl using demonstrated techniques for achieving clean and safe entry cuts to help preserve the bark edge. You'll turn to finished wall thickness as you learn techniques that produce consistency in this process.
In Session 2, you'll learn about selecting logs and laying out cuts for various design considerations. You'll also learn various mounting options for turning both the inside and outside of the bowl, and then proceed to turn your second bowl. Bowls not finished during class may be completed during Open Studio.
The bowls you turn will need to finish drying before being sanded with a flexible sanding pad and a drill, or by hand.
