About
A great class for a parent/grandparent and child or anyone who'd like to bring a young guest — your fees include a spot at one station for one adult and one child.
Get your hands on two different doughs and learn techniques for how to enjoy these cozy bakes fresh in the morning. In this beginner's class, we'll work with a yeasted, sweet dough, and also learn techniques for a short dough. You'll make cinnamon rolls to take, freeze, and bake at home. You'll customize and bake up a batch of scones to eat right away!
Techniques learned: yeasted sweet dough, cutting in of butter for short dough.
Project
You'll make cinnamon rolls and take them to be baked at home. While the cinnamon rolls rise, you'll make and bake scones.
Materials
A materials fee of $20, included in the price of the class, will cover everything you need.

Anne Willhoit
Anne is a teacher, food writer, photographer, and parent. She writes the biweekly From Scratch column for the Kitsap Sun and has published work in several magazines. She tries really hard to only make one big kitchen mess per day but rarely achieves this goal. She likes to collect and play with recipes and is always grateful for the seasonal bounty that our island provides. Anne is excited to return to teaching at BARN and has been involved with it since the beautiful kitchen and concept was just a mere gleam in the founding committee's eye.
