About
Starting with a square or rectangular block of wood, you'll choose which face will be the lid and then cut the block apart in a way that allows it to be glued back together to make a hollowed-out box. No fancy joinery needed!
While the glue is drying, learn about different was to embellish wood projects, including burning in a design with a hot-tipped tool, carving with hand tools or a small rotary carving tool, and adding color with milk paints, acrylic paints, or stains. Practice techniques on scrap wood. Then embellish your box, as time allows.
