About
It’s lapidary time in the studio — or time for the practice of shaping stone, minerals, or gemstones into decorative items such as cabochons, engraved gems, and faceted designs by cutting, grinding, and polishing.
A trained safety monitor is always on duty.
Details
- You’ll have access to lapidary equipment only.
- Bring a variety of rocks in different stages so you can share the equipment with others.
- This isn’t a class and no formal instruction is given.
- Bring your own towels to use during your work, and to clean up your workplace.
Prerequisites
You must have taken Introduction to Lapidary: Cutting and Carving Stones.
Class Policies
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and natural-fiber clothing.
- Do not wear loose or synthetic-fiber clothing, dangling jewelry, scarves, or ties.
- Tie back long hair in ponytail or bun.
