About

What should your character wear? What do they drive? Why is everybody eating lutefisk? How come one character is always arguing over who won the Super Bowl?

Details reveal a lot about a person or place. In this class, you'll read essays and short stories that would not have the same effect without specific details (for example, in one story, how someone uses language drives a conflict, revealing a lot about people and society). Then you'll use details to reveal characters and places in your writing. The goal is to have fun while weaving details and writing skills into the creative process.

By the end of the week, the hope is for everyone to have a few polished pieces of writing that showcase how their use of details illuminates their writing.
