About

Bainbridge glass artist Gregg Mesmer from Mesolini Glass Studio guides you step-by-step through the process of building a stained-glass window. Learn contemporary, innovative, and efficient methods to create this art piece, methods he has honed over his 40 years as a glass artist. You can expand your glass-cutting skills, get tips from a pro, and learn where to order your glass to get BARN's 20% discount.

You'll also learn studio safety and protocol, which is required to use the studio during Open Studio times.

Details

  • Allow for time outside of class to work on your project.
  • Missing any sessions could affect your ability to complete your project by the time class concludes.
  • NOTE:  In order to use Open Studio for your own projects, you must demonstrate competency in glass cutting and grinder use. This course will address those competencies.
  • Glass Cutting is highly recommended if you have no prior experience.

Project

You'll make a stained-glass window measuring about 20 inches by 20 inches.

Materials

  • A $78 materials fee, included in the class price, covers glass, drafting paper, pattern film, zinc and lead, and miscellaneous other supplies.
  • You're encouraged to use glass from the studio. However, you can buy or bring your own.
