About
This is a great class if you've never used acid dyes before, or if you'd like a very basic refresher in how acid dyes work along with the variables that affect final colors and how to use the dyes safely.
You'll be provided with a full skein of machine-washable merino yarn for creating your own special skein, plus several small sample skeins, to learn the basics of kettle-dyeing, low-immersion dyeing and dip-dyeing. While the focus is on yarn dyeing, we'll talk about fabric dyeing, as well. Colors will be pre-mixed, but we'll go over how to mix your own dyes from powders.

This is the foundation for joining the monthly Open Studio: Acid Dyeing sessions.
